About the film
On the Milky Road is a 2016 film directed by Emir Kusturica, based on his segment in the anthology film Words with Gods. The film is a three part narrative following selected critical periods in the life of a man and his country. The difficult period of being at war, blooming days when he falls in love with a woman who is willing to sacrifice all to save him and final days as a reclusive monk looking back on his turbulent past.

Spring in wartime. Each day a milkman crosses the frontline on a donkey, dodging bullets to bring his precious wares to the soldiers. Blessed with good fortune on his mission, loved by a beautiful villager, a peaceful future seems to await him... until the arrival of a mysterious Italian woman turns his life upside down. 《卡拉是条狗》Cala, My Dog!

剧情：卡拉虽说是一条杂种狗，老二却十分爱惜它，在老二心中，为了生活他处处要讨人欢喜，只有卡拉才会想办法讨他高兴。但是老二的运气却糟糕透顶——他妻子玉兰遛狗的时候，警察因为卡拉无证，把它抓走。要换回卡拉，必须要掏5000块钱办一个养狗证件。
对于卡拉一家，5000块钱需要省吃俭用才能存下，老二决定先跑跑关系。儿子亮亮找来了同学帮忙，因为他的老爸有点手腕。然而人家却不肯帮这个忙。老二急中生智，想起卡拉是老同事杨丽的狗下的崽。他找来杨丽的狗证，却被警察识破。
老二和杨丽费劲周章，各种办法都要不回卡拉，还被玉兰误会二人相好。更糟糕的是，儿子亮亮又犯了事被拉进警察局，一家三口和卡拉竟然以这种方式在警察局相遇……
该片提名第23届中国电影金鸡奖最佳男主角和最佳录音两项大奖。

About the film

This film was co-produced by the successful film director Feng Xiaogang.Though a comedy, Cala, My Dog! moves at a subdued pace. Despite this, during its world premiere in Berlin, sales agents from Celestial Pictures billed the film as a more zany, traditional comedy.

About the story
Dwelling on his past glory as a prize-winning author, Ryota wastes the money he makes as a private detective on gambling and can barely meet ends and pay child support. After the death of his father, his aging mother Yoshiko seem to be moving on with her life with hobbies with the local elderly ladies. Ryota tries to renew contact with his beautiful ex-wife Kyoko and in a stormy summer night sheltered at his mother's home with his family he attempts to take back control of his existence and to find a lasting place in the life of his young son Shingo. Ryota reaches an understanding on his family life and uses the chance to bond with his son and tries to make memorable experiences he had with his father as a child with his son before time and place for it passes over.

《斗牛》Cow

剧情：抗日战争时期，一队八路军来到了沂蒙山区的堡垒村马牧池，随他们一同前来的还有国际友人捐赠的奶牛。长年生活在大山中的村民从没见过这种黑白相间、奶量充足的牛，他们备感惊奇。不久，日军部队逼近，八路军紧急撤退，临行前将奶牛托付给村民喂养。贫穷胆小的村民担心奶牛会带来灾难，他们通过抓红豆的方式选出养牛人，小寡妇九儿帮破落户牛二抓阄，最终使牛二成了这倒霉的“幸运儿”。
残酷血腥的扫荡过后，村民们全被杀害，只有牛二和奶牛成为幸存者。尚未得到喘息之时，另一队日军部队路过此地，并将伤员留在这里。从这天起，肩负着保护奶牛重任的牛二想尽办法和日军、土匪、江湖郎中等各色人等展开周旋，而那头倔脾气的搭档也让他头疼不已……

About the film

A bumbling villager, Niu'er, is charged with caring for a Dutch cow, considered an object of awe to the village given its larger size and ability to produce large amounts of milk, they forced Niu'er to take care of the cow, when the village head and members of 8th Route Army members that holds out the village before retreating. When the village is bombed by the Japanese, Niu'er flees from his home, only to return to devastation and a mass grave, containing all villagers killed by a Japanese unit, including Niu'er's love, Jiu. The cow, however, has survived, and the two make their way across the landscape, although they return to the village, just holding on, avoiding Japanese troops, hungry survivors and mountain bandits before eventually meeting with the Communist 8th Route Army.
